What's going on at Epic?!

I don't often share personal news but this one is a bit personal........

I have known the guys at Epic for over 7 years. We have paddled together, worked together, travelled together and even ruined other wive's Air bnb ratings......that's another story, a complete misunderstanding of course :)

Along the way we have shared lots and lots of knowledge gathered over decades in the sport & industry. I have learned a heck of a lot from all the team; across design, production, the sport, various markets, potential products etc. More importantly have been the memories created across many continents & life lessons, which naturally result from shared experiences & spending time with like minded people.

There have been ups and downs (I eat humble pie often both on & off the water) but, at the end of the day, I am the exclusive importer of Epic products in Australia and I've always believed in backing your team through thick and thin.

On that front, it's not a big team, indeed the Epic network usually consists of mums and dads representing Epic in their home territory, just because they love the sport of paddling & the brand. I guess that's exactly what I am doing here in Australia.

I sincerely believe the Epic brand has been at the forefront of the sport for sometime - and we are all trying to contribute to continuing that legacy for many years to come.

So, you have good days and a few challenging ones, but all in all, we love what we do.

Behind the scenes though, Epic Kayaks International have been working their tails off in one of the hardest markets for many years. It's not really their style to scream from rooftops, but I think some of the most exciting news from Epic Kayaks is being announced this week, and due for roll out in 26/27.

Even more exciting for Australia, Epic Kayaks Australia has secured our orders for this year so we will be amongst the first to sample some great new products.

This will indeed take a few weeks to flesh out, and I will try to keep socials and this website as up to date as possible as these changes are rolled out, but, hot off the press, here are the latest announcements from Epic Kayaks (from the Gorge last week) -  unfortunately I couldn't make it as I was unloading our first container today - the first batch of skis have arrived)!!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR 26/27
Incoming Epics into Australia, from July 26, will be manufactured with autoclave technology. This will lead to lighter, stronger and stiffer skis throughout the range! - refer to separate announcement regarding the new lay ups for 26 and beyond

• The new skis to have 'seamless finish' - skis will have better structural integrity, flawless hydrodynamics and an incredibly clean aesthetic

An all new Generation 3 V8 is being launched in Australia in July 2026 - refer to separate announcement regarding the new Generation 3 V8

• The new lay ups will be called the Super Ultra and Super Elite - the Super Ultra will be sub/approx 11kg and the Super Elite will be approx 8.5kg depending on the model. You have read that correctly

• The Super Ultra will continue to be a white hull with red tips (similar to the current Ultra)

The Super Elite will be available in up to 5 colours - with Grey being the standard hull colour - contact Epic Kayaks Australia for more information

• V8 and V10s will be available from late July, V5 and V9's from mid-late August and V12, V10 doubles & V8 tourers from mid-late September - correct as at the time of writing.

In summary, to our loyal customers, this may be the most exciting news coming from Epic Kayaks for many years and we will endeavour to keep you as up to date as possible over the coming days. If the information flow isn't up to speed, please text us on 0413 135 140 and we will call you back as soon as we can.
