Introducing the V5 Surfski Generation 2
The most stable surfski in the Epic fleet just got a tune up! If you’re new to performance paddling, the V5 Surfski Generation 2 will allow you to jump on and go in all conditions, from mild to wild. Slightly longer, a touch narrower and lighter than the Gen 1 model, the V5 Gen 2 has an under-hull rudder and no storage hatch, just like our existing V-series surfskis. The excellent stability and hull speed gives beginners and more experienced paddlers alike the confidence to take it downwind, play in the surf zone with ease, and cruise flatwater with comfort and efficiency. The beloved Epic surfski cockpit has been further improved for additional comfort, and aids in proper ergonomic posture, thus enabling the paddler to use a powerful forward stroke. Our signature cutaway front deck design allows a close, efficient catch at the start of every stroke.

Available in two lightweight composite constructions, the V5 Gen 2 is even easier to carry to and from the water and unload from your car roof rack.

The V5 Surfski Gen 2 comes standard with under hull rudder, adjustable Epic foot brace, bow and stern handles, centre carry handles, rear deck bungees, water bottle holder and Epic’s patented bailer (For kick-up rudder option, see the V5 Tourer).

The Epic V5 Rotomolded surfski allows beginners to jump on and paddle with confidence and give more experienced paddlers a short, stable surfski to use in big or rough conditions. Sleek lines and Epic’s comfortable surfski cockpit make the V5 perfect to learn downwind paddling and great for playing in the surf zone. 

The V5 roto comes standard with under hull rudder, adjustable foot brace (including pedals that automatically adjust line length), rear storage compartment, bow and stern handles, centre carry handles, water bottle holder and Epic’s patented bailer. An optional stern kick up rudder can be added to the Rotomolded version with no modifications needed to allow the V5 to be paddled in shallow or rocky areas.

Rotomolded kayaks have traditionally been heavy and difficult to handle, both on and off the water.

The Epic V7 breaks that mold and sets a new standard for rotomold performance. It is lightweight, extremely efficient, and easy to handle. The V7 is outfitted with the same high quality fittings as every surfski in the Epic lineup, including our carbon fiber footboard and pedals and the hugely popular Epic designed bailer. In addition, it features an aft storage compartment with a waterproof hatch that puts the V7 in a class of its own. 

The 17’ x 21” V7 adds a whole new dimension. It offers similar stability to the V8 with the increased durability of a polyethylene kayak. Its capability can be further enhanced with the optional kick up rudder (no modification needed). This combination allows the V7 to be paddled in areas where composites cannot.

With a hull design featuring specs of 18’ x 21.25”, the V8 is unique in its class. Fast, yet extremely stable, this is a surfski that most kayakers should be able to hop right onto and paddle off. At 19’ x 19”, the V9 was designed by Epic’s founder and chief designer, Greg Barton, to fill a sweet spot between the V8 Pro and V10 Sport. Like the Gen 3 V10, the V9 has been optimized for downwind surfing, with increased rocker, and stability. Flatwater speed is a step up from the V8 Pro due to the slightly narrower beam. This is the boat many paddlers have been waiting their whole lives for – the one that launches you onto the swells, glides efficiently across the water, and keeps you in the “zone”.

The comfort of Epic surfskis is legendary. We believe that better comfort leads to greater performance. If you’re not comfortable in the boat, nothing else matters! The updated design has more rocker, a more responsive rudder position, and incorporates the very popular V11 cockpit all with more stability than the V14. The slightly shorter length in the Gen 3 V12 allows the ski to turn on a dime and not miss a beat. 

After testing several prototypes in locations around the world, we feel this is the best surfski for elite, open-water paddling, especially in big downwinds. The Twist is an all-new paddle series created by Epic to give maximum efficiency for experienced paddlers. The unique shape of the Twist blade provides an aggressive, clean catch, and extremely efficient stroke with a very stable feel in the water. Made from heavy weight 500gsm 100% Cotton French Terry, it feels substantial yet soft. This pullover is preshrunk to minimise shrinkage and built to last.

The Epic 'Tracker' Hat is a new addition to the Epic apparel range. The hat is lightweight, with a back half that is mesh to keep you cool on the water. The hat is equally comfortable off water with Epic branding and one size fits most/all adjustable velcro strap.

Available in black, blue, orange (great for visibility) and pink, the Epic trucker hat is a must have for paddling and off water - super comfy too. 

The Epic Kayaks boat stands are the perfect way to store your ski! They also make a convenient support while you are washing your kayak and are easily transported to use before a race or a paddle while setting up your boat. They are made from lightweight aluminum and the durable fabric sling conforms perfectly to the shape of your boat. They fold flat for transporting or storage when not in use. 

Always try to support the weight of your kayak equally (do not place stands at the very ends of the boat). On shorter and wider boats, it may be necessary to move the stands a bit further towards the bow/stern than the skinnier boats. This is acceptable.

The new Epic Boat Sock will help protect your boat while in storage or on the road - it is a great addition to your Epic products. There are several sizes available, and they are fitted to your ski. If you do not see your boat listed, it is possibly out of stock - please contact australia@epickayaks.com.

Note that the fit is not as tight in the back part of the boat, as there is some space in the sock to account for the shape of the skis as well as to accept any length rudder. V7 fits into the V8 cover with a bit of extra material left unused.

Warning: The boat sock is breathable and therefore is not waterproof or completely dustproof. The sock does not provide protection from hard impacts or from dropping your boat.

Perfect leash for races, for a quick-release at the end of the race. Coil leash attaches just below the knee.

The Deluxe Leg Leash is equipped with a quick-release carabiner. This is a valuable feature for paddlers, as you typically do not want to be attached to your boat in larger shore break conditions.

We recommend that you always use a leash! In strong winds, our lightweight boats can blow away from you faster than you can swim. Practice your remounts while wearing your leash(es) so there are no surprises when you are forced to remount.

Please note: these leashes are designed for use in races for the quick release carabiner and are not guaranteed to stay connected under extreme tension, or in extreme conditions. 

There are 3 different colour options, unless specified in notes when you purchase at check out, the product will be selected at random. Colours are; Black, Grey and Aqua. Colours are great as you can easily identify them.

Combined with our carbon weed deflector (included in your purchase), the weedless rudder is designed to shed seaweed and prevent those irritating hang-ups during your training session or race.
