The V9 is one of the most popular models in the Epic quiver of skis. It can take you to new and exciting places you’ve only dreamed of: downwind surfing, open-ocean crossings, challenging races, fitness sessions, or just plain fun. It's the 'swiss-army' knife of surfski paddling - it can do anything, with little fuss and suitable for (most) levels of paddlers.
For the 2nd generation of the V9, we didn't really want to change too much. Think refresh rather than re-design - the V9 is too good a ski to mess too much with it. However, you will notice the new bow. We have matched this to all of the latest generation Epic surfskis with the main advantage being its ability to cut through water more efficiently than the previous design. It's sleekness and hydrodynamic properties also reduces instability from cross chop and, quite frankly, it looks pretty cool too.
Now with a seamless finish and two new construction lay-ups, this ski is sure to turn heads and put many smiles on paddlers.
All of the existing components you know and love about Epics (including but not limited to; the port/starboard handles, bow & stern handles, Epic footplate system, bailer system etc) have been retained in this refreshed favourite. This is the boat many paddlers have been waiting their whole lives for – the one that launches you onto the swells, glides efficiently across the water, and keeps you in the “zone”.
The cockpit configuration, with the fully adjustable Epic footboard, accommodates paddlers from 4’11 to 6’6” tall (1.5 to 1.99 m). Our popular side carry handles make it a breeze to carry solo.
